A noble man runs for the presidency.
He practices his speech over and over again
In preparation for the big day.
He anticipates his chances
Which are never high.
This lowers his self-esteem and confidence,
Drowning him inside his bubble
Deeper than the depths of the oceans.
But the day arrives as swiftly as ever
And he does an outstanding job.
But, as tasks pile up,
It’s hard to remember what takes precedent
In this large office.
He spirals down in his mind
With no escape
Of the depths of the oceans.
